An officer conducting DWI patrol on Post Road in Scarsdale.at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Sunday morning spotted a 2016 Honda CRV speeding through the village before making a right hand turn onto Fenimore Road. Once she was on Fenimore Road, she was spotted repeatedly crossing over the double yellow line, prompting a traffic stop.

The officer said while speaking with the driver, Scarsdale resident Nikola Ruprechtova, she was found to have glassy, bloodshot eyes and there was alcohol on her breath. Police said that the 23-year-old stated she had one cider drink two hours earlier in White Plains before heading home.

Ruprechtova proceeded to fail multiple Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and an initial breathalyzer determined her blood alcohol content was .14 percent, nearly double the legal limit.

She was arrested and transported to Scarsdale Police Headquarters, where she was charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent. She was also cited for moving unsafely from her lane and speeding.

After she was processed, Ruprechtova was released and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Scarsdale Village Court on Wednesday, Sept. 19 to answer the charges.

Police noted that due to the arrest of a foreign national, officers attempted to notify the Czech Republic Consulate of Ruprechtova’s arrest, but was unable to speak with anyone or leave a message.
